School:
I had my first parent/teacher conference with Marissa. I was very excited to see how she was doing and she's doing great! Her teacher said she is very polite, does her assignments and then sits quietly until she is told what to do next, which is definitely different from at home:) At her table there is one other girl and three boys. The girls act like the mothers at their table and try to get the boys to listen and behave. Her teacher is worried she will get bored with the material, so she's trying to give her more work to do during school. I was worried about her going to school all day since she was used to being home, but she loves it and I am so proud of her! She is learning a lot and making a lot of friends.
Kindergarten photo. It's kind of blurry because I don't have a scanner, so this is a picture of a picture:)
The first thing she said when she saw this picture: "Oh man, you can totally see my scar still!" It's hard to see on this picture but she has a scar on her forehead. When she was three she fell and hit her head on the corner of the trim. She had a cut all the way down to the bone and had layers of stitches. Looks like the scar is staying for good.Addy was used to a lot of girls in her church class in MN, but is the only girl in her preschool class and she loves it. She's going to be a heart-breaker one day:) Her and the teacher's son are best buds. He even sticks up for her when some of the other boys say she can't do things, (like play with the toy guns they build out of legos) because she's a girl. Before we moved to Utah she had a huge problem with doing things by herself, she always had to be with Marissa. But now she loves it. She's making her own friends and learning a lot.
When it started to get cold, I bought all three of us these brown boots. They are so comfortable and warm. Addy loves them and wears them everywhere.
Move:So we finally got out of the house we were renting. While I am going to miss living in a house, the management company was way too stressful to deal with. We moved on Halloween which was definitely not a good idea. We moved to a 3rd floor apartment and Amber and I moved almost everything ourselves. Fortunately we have made some really good friends here. A couple of friends from my work moved a few heavy things for us, and Amber's boss lent us her truck for the move and then their dumpster for the things we had to toss from the flood. I don't know what we would have done without them!
Halloween:
So we started moving our stuff at 8am on Halloween, stopped at 5pm to put the girls costumes on, eat dinner, and go trick or treating with Marissa's friend, then finished moving until about 10pm. Luckily the girls were really good all day and had a blast trick or treating. They were both cowgirls this year.
Up next: getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love this time of the year!
